The Pedersons just keep winning! Tucker grabs River Cities victory

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (June 29, 2022) – The entire Joey Pederson Racing team is nearly unbeatable right now as all three cars are firing on all cylinders. Both Joey and Tucker were in action on Sunday evening at River Cities Speedway during the Greater Grand Forks Fair special.

Tucker won a highly contested Street Stock feature to claim his third win of the season. Tucker started fifth on the grid and moved up to second by lap six of the 20-lap feature.

He then set is sights on leader Aaron Blacklance. Tucker stalked the back bumper of Blacklance’s No. 5BA machine for several laps until he found an opening with nine to go. Tucker took the lead and went on to pace the field for the remainder of the event, but could never shake Blacklance.

Blacklance stayed right with Tucker through lapped traffic but Tucker was able to hang on for the win.

The win gave Tucker a bit of redemption at the Bullring after he cut down a right rear tire while leading the Street Stock Tour feature on June 17th.

“Last week was a tough one. I don’t know if I’ll be ever to let it down,” said Tucker in victory lane. Both Joey and Kelsi picked up wins on the 17th and Tucker seemed destined to win, too, until the tire was cut down.

Tucker dedicated the win to his grandmother.

“My grandma is in the hospital right now and this one is for her. It’s been a long week and a long month for all of us.”

Joey had an eventful NLRA Late Model feature as several restarts shuffled up the running order throughout the event. Joey ran seventh early on, but then fell as far back as 11th in the running order out of a full field of 24 cars. Joey made a late race charge to the front, however. He was running 10th with six to go but claimed the third and final podium position with two laps to go.

Tucker and Kelsi were both in action on Saturday at Greenbush (MN) Race Park, but rain showers after the heats ended the evening early. Tucker won his heat race and Kelsi finished second in her heat. The features will be made up at a later date.

The entire Joey Pederson Racing team would like to thank all of their great sponsors for their continued support!
