Strand Heads South For Wild West Shootout

By Spieker Promotions

PORTLAND, N.D. (January 4, 2023) – Out of the seat since before harvest, Jason Strand has loaded up the North Dakota Corn Council No. E85, and has headed south for New Mexico to kick off his 2023 campaign at the 17th annual Wild West Shootout at Vado Speedway Park.

The events at the Wild West Shootout will be Strand’s first at the 3/8ths mile New Mexico speedplant that opened in 2019, and will be hosting the annual January event for just the second time since it’s relocation from Arizona. This will also be the first time Strand will compete with an Open Motor under the hood.

Before harvest last summer, Strand collected his first two Late Model victories, one coming at his home track at Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN, and another at River Cities Speewday in Grand Forks, ND on July 29th. His second season of Late Model racing ended with those two victories, eight top fives, and 15 top tens.

The Wild West Shootout begins this weekend, January 7th and 8th, continues on Wednesday January 11th, and concludes with three nights of action from Friday January 13th through Sunday January 15th.
