PIERCE SET TO CONTINUE QUEST FOR MILESTONE VICTORY
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 7, 2023) – Austin Pierce, driver of the Auggie’s Flying Service / AJ’s Sandblasting & Painting No. 2A, is set to take another shot at career win number 50 this Friday night at River Cities Speedway after a run through the field with the World of Outlaws.
Last Friday during the first leg of the Northern Tour with the World of Outlaws, Pierce started with a late draw in qualifying, finishing 23rd. Improving one spot in his heat race, Pierce started fourth and finished fifth in the B Main, taking the second to last spot for the 40 lap main event.
A number of cautions plagued the early portion of the feature, but Pierce stayed out of trouble and was up nearly ten spots around the halfway point. Pierce made another pass late to finish 14th, winning the KSE Hard Charger award with the series.
The result was the 5th time Pierce has finished 14th with the series, tying his second-best career result. Pierce’s best was a 10th place run in June of 2016.
This Friday, Pierce will try to become the 4th driver in Northern Outlaw Sprint Association history to hit the 50 win plateau during the Wayne Anderson Cup qualifier at River Cities.
