SENG SWEEPS NLRA SEASON AT I-94 SPEEDWAY
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 27, 2023) – Bouncing back from a rough start to the week with the Northern Late Model Racing Association, Brad Seng parked the No. 12S S&S Transport / Anderson Bros. Body Shop MB Custom in victory lane for the second time this month at I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN.
The four-race weekend with the NLRA started Thursday night at Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. Following a third-place run in his heat race, Seng started on the outside of row four in the 25-lap main event. Holding the sixth spot through a few cautions to start the race, Seng’s car appeared to lose power, ending his night early.
Seng headed south on Friday night to I-94 emr Speedway where he entered the night as the most recent series winner at the three-eighths mile oval, winning the Dick Johanneck Memorial King of the Dirt three weeks prior.
Seng improved from fourth to second in his heat race and went on to redraw the pole for the 25-lap feature. Seng took the lead at the start and was already ahead by nearly a straightaway before a lap five caution.
Seng continued to lead Don Shaw by a few car lengths as the leaders caught up to the rear of the field with ten laps complete. Another caution shortly thereafter saved Seng from having to work traffic.
Building a nearly half-straightaway lead when he caught up to traffic again with eight circuits remaining, Seng split a pair of lapped cars, and continued to work well through traffic to win his second feature at the Speedway this month.
With Devils Lake Speedway postponing the Golden Hammer Classic, Seng completed his weekend during the Fair race at River Cities Speedway on Sunday evening. A third-place run in his heat race set up an 11th place start for the final 25 lap feature of the weekend.
A few cautions kept the race from seeing any long green flag runs, including a 10-car melee on the seventh lap, which found Seng involved. Having survived with very little damage, Seng ran in the fourth spot through the midway point.
Seng took second following restarts at the halfway point and was reeling in race leader Tyler Peterson in traffic before a caution with two to go set up one final restart. Seng completed the green-white-checkered finish with a runner-up.
This week, Seng will compete with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series at River Cities Speedway.
