STRAND LOOKING TO TURN LUCK AROUND AS HOME SCHEDULE HEATS UP

PORTLAND, N.D. (June 7, 2023) – In two races since returning from Arizona, Jason Strand has had some bad luck in the No. E85 North Dakota Corn Utilization Council / Hatton Co-op Rocket XR1 but will look to turn things around with a pair of races this week.

Following a third-place run at Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, Arizona on April 1st, Strand has run twice with the Northern Late Model Racing Association. On May 13th, Strand charged from sixth to second in his heat race and was in contention for a top five when a mechanical failure sent him to the infield while running second.

Last Friday night, Strand had more mechanical woes, sending him to the B main. Strand finished second in the B and had passed nine cars when more woes ended his race at the midway point.

This week, Strand returns to his home track, and the site of his first Late Model win nearly one year ago, as Late Models will be on the card during the Red River Sprint Series debut at Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN.

On Friday night, Strand returns to River Cities where he scored the second win of his Late Model career last August. Strand appeared at the Speedway 11 times last year, where he finished inside the top ten nine times, with one DNS, and 22nd place finish with the World of Outlaws.

In 23 career Late Model starts at the track, Strand has only finished outside the top ten once in WISSOTA/NLRA races he was able start. A 12th place run in his track debut in 2021 is the only blemish on that record.
