PORTLAND, N.D. (June 16, 2023) – Following some mechanical woes at the beginning of the home schedule for Jason Strand, driver of the No. E85 Sower Power Racing Engines / Rocket XR1, Strand returned to the top ten last week at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, earning an eighth-place finish. This week, he’ll be back at River Cities Speedway tonight and head to Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday.

Strand started last week with a race at his home track at Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. Following a fourth-place run in his heat, Strand battled with Dustin Strand and Mitch Johnson early in the main event and held off a hard charging Cole Schill late in the race to finish fourth.

On Friday night, Strand returned to River Cities where he was looking to rebound from his first DNF in his third season in Late Model competition at the ‘Bullring’.

Strand kicked off the night charging from fifth to third in his heat race. Rolling off outside row five in the 20-lap main event, Strand made four passes in the first two laps of the race, to grab the final spot outside the top five.

Strand’s progress was spoiled, however, by a string of four cautions in as many laps around the midway point. Losing two spots on the final restart, Strand ran the final nine laps in eighth, where he finished.

That finish put him back in what has been an incredible streak to start his Late Model career at the track. Friday’s top ten was his 20th at the Speedway in his 24th Late Model appearance on the Grand Forks quarter-mile.
