TUCKER WINS AGAIN AT THE BULLRING; SCORES THREE TOP FIVES
EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (June 28, 2023) – Tucker Pederson continued his bid for a WISSOTA National Championship with three consecutive top five runs last week including another victory at River Cities Speedway on Sunday night, where all three of the Pederson Racing entries were in action.
Sunday evening’s action at River Cities started with Tucker collecting a heat race win, Kelsi starting and finishing third in her heat with the POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints, and Joey finishing fourth in his NLRA Late Model heat race.
Starting third in the 20 lap feature, Tucker moved up to second on the opening lap in his Shawn Horn Crary Realtor / North Dakota Eye Clinic No. 27, passing Josh Barker on the second lap to take the early lead.
Tucker led all the remaining laps, holding off Cole Greseth on the only restart of the race with four to go to win his second consecutive feature at the Bullring.
“The car definitely was a handful,” Tucker said in victory lane post race. “It got a little rough coming out of (turns) three and four there, but hats off to the track for giving us a track to race on.”
It was Kelsi’s turn next as she rolled off eighth in the No. 93 Olson Underground / R&R Farms Henchcraft. A lightning fast surface made for a quick race that went green-to-checkered without any cautions. In the four-and-a-half minutes the race went on, Kelsi was able to make a pair of passes to finish one spot short of another top five, finishing sixth.
The 25 lap NLRA Late Model main event was last on the bill, with Joey starting deep in the 26 car field on the inside of row eight.
The race was marred with cautions early on, with Joey steering the No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors / Markit County Grain Rocket XR1 clear of a ten car pileup in turn two with just six laps in the books.
Lining back up in the ninth spot, Joey fought in the middle of a three-wide battle with Mike Balcaen and Brody Troftgruben for eighth at the midway point, but remained tenth.
One final restart with two laps left cost Joey a top ten, as he dropped down one spot, finishing the race in the eleventh spot.
In other action last week, Thursday night has become a regular trip down to Sheyenne Speedway in Lisbon, ND, and this week was no different as Tucker started the night charging from eighth fo fourth in his heat race.
Starting third in the 20 lap feature, Tucker went three-wide for the lead at the start, then three-wide for second and then third before settling into fifth. Moving up to the high line, Tucker was able to keep pace with Mike Mund and Todd Carter, eventually passing both to move up to fourth, where he finished the race.
On Friday night, Tucker and crew continued to race around the weather. With River Cities canceled for the night, the crew headed to I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN where Tucker charged from fifth to second in his heat race.
Starting on the outside of the front row in the 15 lap main event, Tucker jumped out to the early lead. Tucker led the first half of the race, though Ryan Satter remained within striking distance. Tucker continued to lead until a caution with four laps remaining. Satter capitalized on the restart, with Tucker finishing second.
With more rain in the area, Tucker headed to Madison Speedway in southwest central Minnesota, but was rained out following a heat win from the fourth starting spot.
Among the races on another busy schedule for Pederson racing this week include the Street Stock Tour at Sheyenne Speedway, the World of Outlaws Late Models on Friday at River Cities with Streets also on the card. The Pederson kids will also return to Greenbush Race Park on Saturday night.
