MULLEN RETURNS TO RIVER CITIES ON FRIDAY AFTER COLLECTING TWO NOSA PODIUMS

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 6, 2023) – Brendan Mullen collected a pair of podium finishes last weekend, as he returned to Northern Outlaw Sprint Association action in his No. 11M Royal River Casino & Hotel / 605 Lending entry at the Brown County and Buffalo River Speedways.

Following an incredible charge from seventh to win his heat race on Friday night at Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, SD, Mullen started fifth in the 25 lap main event.

Mullen re-aligned in fifth on a lap four restart, while capitalizing to run fourth on the following circuit’s restart. From there, Mullen battled Jack Croaker for third.

After the final restart with nine in the book, Mullen chased down Croaker to make the pass in traffic with four laps left. Mullen finished the race with the final podium spot.

Another heat race charge at the beginning of Saturday’s series return to Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, MN saw Mullen improve from sixth to second, while being tasked with starting sixth again in the final 25 lapper of the weekend.

Mullen got a great start, already running fourth heading into turn one, while then passing Blake Egeland for third on the bottom of the first pair of corners.

Mullen remained within striking distance until a red flag with three laps in the books. On the ensuing restart, Mullen lost third to Egeland, while the pair and Mark Dobmeier moved into second through fourth respectively.

Mullen followed Dobmeier past Egeland just before the halfway mark to move into third. From there, the pair battled back and forth just as they did for the heat race win, this time for second in the feature.

Mullen capitalized on a bobble by Dobmeier in turn three with ten to go to take the second spot. Mullen continued on in the remaining laps to take home the runner-up result.

On Friday night, Mullen joins the NOSA regulars as they return to River Cities Speedway. Friday’s action at the ‘Bullring’ will be the final tune-up before the Buffalo Wild Wings ‘King of the Wings’ at the track the following weekend as the series welcomes the Interstate Racing Association back to town.

Mullen and crew will end this weekend with more regular season action at South Dakota’s Huset’s Speedway.
