SENG RECORDS EIGHTH STRAIGHT TOP FIVE
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 14, 2023) – Brad Seng stretched his season long top five streak to eight with a fifth-place finish at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks on Friday night improving from the eighth starting spot in the No. 12S S&S Transport / Forks Mobile Wash MB Custom following an hour-long rain delay.
Seng started his night with a runner-up finish in his heat race before the skies opened up on the quarter-mile Bullring. The track was smooth but fast in the 20-lap feature which saw Seng start on the outside of the fourth row.
A trio of cautions early in the race saw Seng fall back as far as tenth, through the midway point of the race. With seven laps left, a caution which saw the top three involved in contact with a lapped car included Seng’s son John who was looking for his first River Cities win.
John led as the race went back to green as Brad climbed into the top five with four to go. John lost the lead the following lap to eventual winner Dustin Strand as John and Brad went on to finish second and fifth respectively.
This week, Seng will be in action during another three-race swing with the NLRA series starting with a pair of races on Thursday and Friday at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo for the annual running of the Howie Schill Memorial.
The series wraps up the weekend with the rescheduled Golden Hammer classic at Devils Lake Speedway near Doyon, ND with the win paying $5,000. The Seng’s have combined to win three of the four Late Model races held at the speedway this season.
John Seng won the first two features of his career, including his first NLRA series win at the track on July 22. Brad Seng is the most recent winner at the speedway, winning on August 5th.
