GRAND FORKS, N.D. (September 5, 2023) – Brad Seng saw the River Cities Speedway regular season and the NLRA series road schedules come to an end last week, scoring a weekend-high third place finish on Friday night in Grand Forks in the No. 12S S&S Transport / Valley Oral & Facial Surgery MB Custom.

Friday night at River Cities, Seng turned a heat race win on Track Championship night into a front row starting spot in the 20-lap main event. Seng went door-to-door with Dustin Strand throughout the opening lap, running second at its conclusion.

Seng battled Joey Pederson during much of the middle portion of the race, remaining inside the top three through a pair of restarts with five laps to go.

This allowed Brody Troftgruben to take third as the white flag flew, though Seng took the spot back on the final lap to finish the regular season at the speedway with a third-place finish.

On Saturday Seng headed back to Greenbush Race Park for the final out-of-town races for the NLRA during their 2023 campaign. A second-place finish in the heat race led to a start on the inside of the third row in the 25-lap feature.

Seng got a bite of the bottom of turn two at the conclusion of the opening circuit to beat Joey Pederson back to the flagstand to take fourth. The pair remained door-to-door for the next handful of laps, however, with Pederson eventually getting the spot back.

Dustin Strand followed Pederson as the pair made the top of the quarter-mile work for them as Seng went on to battle Tyler Peterson for position. Seng ran sixth ahead of Peterson following a restart with seven to go though both were passed by Cole Schill late with Seng finishing seventh.

A fourth place run in his heat race on Sunday night set up a start on the outside of the eighth row in the final 25-lap feature of the weekend. Three cautions slowed the pace but Seng used the final restart to make up ground late in the race.

With nine laps left, Seng made three passes, coming just short of scoring a top ten, finishing 11th.

Seng finished second in the River Cities Speedway point standings and looks to finish second in the NLRA season long championship battle as the series completes its 26th season on Thursday night during the ‘Prelude to the Johnny’ in Grand Forks.

Seng, a two-time John Seitz Memorial champion, heads into the 17th edition of the annual event at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks this weekend as one of two drivers to qualify for each of the event’s 16 main events.

Joined by fellow two-time champ Don Shaw as the only other driver to make all 16 features, Seng’s average finish is 9.56, finishing outside the top ten just four times in the event that was renamed in John Seitz’s honor after his passing in 2007.
