Pederson boys return to Victory Lane!

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (August 10, 2022) – Both Joey and Tucker Pederson scored feature wins last weekend in their respective classes. Joey won a thrilling Late Model feature at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks on Friday while Tucker raced to the Street Stock win on Saturday at Greenbush Race Park.

Joey started sixth on the grid for Friday’s feature but quickly jumped into a podium position. He battled for the second spot for several laps with Jesse Teunis, then Jason Strand before he was able to get by both of them and set his sights on long time friendly foe, Brad Seng, for the lead.

Pederson followed Seng around the high side of the speedway with under 10 to go until Seng switched lanes and went to the low side. That allowed Joey to power around the No. 12S machine and take the point. Joey took the lead with 5 laps to go and drove out to a one-second advantage at the checkers.

It was win number two for Joey this season.

Joey also turned in a strong run on Saturday at Greenbush Race Park against the NLRA Late Models. Joey drove from fifth to become a contender for the win in the late going.

The driver of the No. 7P had a run on leader Dustin Strand and briefly took the lead with five to go. The two raced hard and close for a handful of laps before Strand was able to shut the door on Joey in turn three to retain the lead.

Joey went on to score a runner-up finish.

Coming off a win the previous Saturday night at Devils Lake Speedway, Tucker was looking to keep his momentum going over the weekend.

He ran on Friday night at River Cities Speedway, but recorded a DNF and a 17th place finish, but bounced back in a big way on Saturday.

Tucker ran third in the early going of the Street Stock feature on Saturday night at Greenbush Race Park. On lap four, he slid back to fourth, but capitalized on the second and third place cars getting together to bring out the caution. That moved him up to the second spot for the ensuing restart.

He filed in behind leader James Meagher until he made his move for the lead on lap seven of 15. Tucker dove to the inside of Meagher and cleared him coming off the corner to take the point. From there he never looked back, cruising to the win.

The win was Tucker’s sixth of the season.

Kelsi’s event with the Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minn. rounded out the weekend. She recorded a third place finish in her heat and drove from fifth to third in the feature.

The entire Joey Pederson Racing team would like to thank all of their great sponsors for their continued support!
