Thomas Kennedy Drives to Runner-up Finish at King of the 360’s

GIBSONTON, Fla. (February 27, 2017) – Thomas Kennedy wrapped up the 2017 King of the 360’s at East Bay Raceway Park starting 11th in the 40-lap, $10,000 main event. Within the first five laps, Kennedy made impressive moves to get by the likes of Jason Sides and Terry McCarl, while holding off talent such as Rico Abreu.

As the race advanced, Kennedy drove by Chad Kemenah, pole sitter Shawn Donath, Harli White, and Greg Hodnett to take over the third position.

With 10 laps to go, Kennedy was closing in on the leader, Travis Rilat and Mark Smith, when a red flag halted the race and, ultimately, Kennedy’s progress.

When the race resumed, Rilat and Smith pulled away from Kennedy by a few car lengths. Smith moved by Rilat to take the lead, and with two laps to go, Kennedy found a way arond Rilat to move into second.

Mark Smith went on to take the win, followed by Kennedy, who was running one of Smith’s Mach 1 Chassis, to complete the 1-2 finish.
