Mid-Season Track Championship Preview

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 6, 2017) – It’s hard to believe, but the first half of the 2017 racing season is already behind us. Tomorrow night’s program at River Cities Speedway will feature the mid-season track championship, as well as double Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car features.

Drivers will draw for their starting positions for heat races, while the features will be lined up by track points.

That means Karlstad, Minn. drivers Ryan Johnson and Chase Boen will lead the field to the green for the Wells Concrete Street Stock feature.

Defending Happy Harry’s Midwest Modified track champion, Austin Hunter has a slim one point lead over Nate Reynolds. Hunter and Reynolds will fight head to head for the point lead as they bring the pack to the Valley Sunrise Properties flagstand tomorrow night.

The Performance Auto Late Models saw a big shake up in the points after last week’s double header. Dustin Strand will start on the pole for Friday’s feature, while Mike Balcaen edged out Joey Pederson by one point to start outside of Strand on the front row.

Austin Pierce, who is in search of his third career RCS track title, and defending RCS track champion, Casey Mack, will bring the NOSA Sprints up to speed from the front row.

The NOSA Sprints will also be running a make-up feature from June 9th.
