Pierce Collects Runner-up Finish at River Cities!

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (May 30, 2018) – Austin Pierce and the Opp Construction / Lithia Ford crew were back in action last Friday night at River Cities Speedway.

Pierce began the night by racing from fifth to second in his heat. The redraw put the two-time and defending NOSA champion outside of row two for the 25-lap Buffalo Wild Wings main event.

Pierce ran around the fifth position for the majority of the race, battling with Wade Nygaard, Jade Hastings and Jordan Adams. In the latter stages of the race, Pierce was able to move his way forward to crack the top three.

Pierce moved by front row starter, Chris Ranten, to claim the second spot as he set his sights on Dobmeier for the lead.

A late-race restart put Pierce alongside Dobmeier. Dobmeier raced to the lead as the green flag waved, while Pierce remained within striking distance running the low side of the speedway.

Dobmeier continued to hammer the cushion on the high side, but he wasn’t pulling away from Pierce, who remained loyal to running the shorted line around the three-tenths mile oval.

Dobmeier went on to take the win as Pierce held on for second to claim his third top five finish of the season.

The entire APR crew would like to thank their sponsors for their continued support!
