LISBON, N.D. (June 12, 2019) – The NLSA Lightning Sprints had just one tour event on the schedule last weekend. The series made its first-ever visit to Sheyenne Speedway in Lisbon, N.D. Twelve teams made the trip to the high-banked quarter-mile.
Alex Truscinski and Josh Abrahamson each won their respective heat races. Abrahamson and Mike Schmiedeberg made up the front row for the 20-lap main event. Abrahamson jumped out to the lead and scored the win – his first of the season.
“It’s been a while since I’ve run here. I used to race here back when I ran Mod Fours,” said Abrahamson in victory lane. “I had a good starting spot which helped out quite a bit. I don’t know if we could have got it done without that.”
This week, the NLSA Lighting Sprints head back to Norman County Raceway on June 13th and Red River Valley Speedway on June 14th. The series competed at both tracks two weeks ago. Alex Truscinski scored the win at Norman County, while his dad, Alan Truscinski, raced to the win the following night at Red River Valley.
Racing begins at 7pm both night.
