Continuing to chase the Outlaws: Dobmeier set for Knoxville doubleheader
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 11, 2020) – For the third consecutive weekend, Mark Dobmeier and the Buffalo Wild Wings / Lunstra Motorsports team will continue along the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car tour.
Dobmeier is headed to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa with the Greatest Show on Dirt following visits to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 on May 22-23 and, most recently, a trip to Beaver Dam Raceway in Wisconsin, June 5-6.
“Things are starting to feel somewhat normal again. We sat on the sidelines for quite a while there, but now races are popping up all over,” said Dobmeier. “I’m really looking forward to getting back to Knoxville. It sounds like they have a huge car count and a lot of good, quality cars. We are looking forward to seeing what we can do against them.”
The most recent entry list for this weekend’s event shows a field of 50 drivers registered. Dobmeier made six starts at the Marion County Fairground’s half-mile in 2019 and recorded a best finish of 10th on June 1st.
Last weekend at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, Dobmeier finished 21st and 17th on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
“We weren’t where we wanted to be. We’ve been working on our car and trying to find where we need to be,” said Dobmeier who had made his first-ever visit to the speedway over the weekend. “We definitely made big strides and got the car working a lot better. We’re just in our fine-tuning process where we’re trying to pick up just a little more speed towards the end of the race.”
