GROSZ SET TO TAKE ON RIVER CITIES SPEEDWAY WITH JORDAN ADAMS RACING
“It’s always cool to race close to home. I haven’t been up there in close to three years so it will be kind of cool to get back up there. [River Cities] is kind of where I got my feet wet in Sprint Car racing so I’m looking forward to it.”
Twenty-year-old Reynolds, N.D. driver, Jordan Adams, is sidelined this weekend after a nasty wreck last Friday night at River Cities. Adams and Grosz put a deal together late yesterday afternoon to have Grosz fill-in for Adams at this weekend’s John Seitz Memorial doubleheader.
With the new team comes different driver equipment for Grosz. The Jordan Adams Racing team runs an Eagle Chassis with a Kistler 410 power plant, which differs from the J&J / Wesmar 360s Grosz is accustom to racing.
“I’m sure there’ll be a little difference in the power, but you can’t get yourself psyched out so to say. You just have to look at it like it’s another race car that you’ve driven before,” said Grosz. “Hopefully everything goes smoothly and we can adjust quickly to the different style car. It’d be great if we can find something that gets me comfortable and hopefully get them to the front. I’m pretty excited about it. They have great equipment and take care of their stuff well so it should be fun working with them guys.”
WEEKEND RECAP:
“Friday was shaping up to be a pretty good night,” continued Grosz. “In the heat race, I got a great start. Going into turn one I was second and actually slid the leader and got side by side with him. I cleared him going into three and won the heat from sixth so that set me as the high point guy for the night.”
Unfortunately, rain washed out the remainder of Friday night’s program, but the Beds by Design crew were back at it on Saturday.
After finishing second in his heat, Grosz received the 10th starting position for the main event.
“I didn’t get a very good start and fell back to about 12th or 13th, but I ended up working my way back up to ninth. It rubbered up with about eight to go. But anytime you can run top 10 with the ASCS National guys it’s a decent night and overall it was a good weekend.
“I’d like to thank Jordan Adams and his team for giving me the opportunity to drive their car this weekend,” said Grosz. “It’s awesome to be able to keep the season going and experience driving a different car. Hopefully we can put a good weekend together, get a top four on Friday to get locked into Saturday and go forward from there.”
