Truedson Claims First Win of 2018 at Norman County Raceway

By Mike Spieker

ADA, Minn. (June 19, 2018) – The Northern Lightning Sprint Association made their first and only appearance of the season to the three-eighths mile dirt track this past Thursday. During their feature, the Lightning Sprints were running just a second and a half off the lap times of the NOSA 410 Sprints.
The ladies of the NLSA, Presley Truedson and Kelsi Pederson, dominated heat race action and picked up the two heat wins.

Truedson and Alan Truscinski led the field of 13 to the green flag.

Truedson jumped out to the lead with Truscinski in second and Brendan Mullen in third. Truedson opened up her advantage over Truscinski over the midway point of the race.

With four laps to go in the feature, Presley Truedson led the field back to green for a restart. A couple cars banged wheels, which stacked several cars up and resulted in Mullen getting upside down. Mullen was ok.

On the ensuing restart, Truscinski, who was called for the previous caution, jumped the start from the tail of the field to bring out another yellow. On the final restart, Truedson pulled away from the field to claim her first career Norman County Raceway win.

Alex Truscinski, Dexter Dvergsten, Tim Estenson and Pederson rounded out the top five.

Estenson, who started 12th, was the hard charger of the race advancing eight positions.

The NLSA Lightning Sprints have a double-header at River Cities Speedway lined up for this weekend. The three-race weekend will wrap up Sunday at Buffalo River Race Park.
