Another Solid Week For Strand As Rookie Season Rolls On

By Spieker Promotions

PORTLAND, N.D. (June 17, 2021) – Jason Strand put two more Late Model races on his résumé last week, collecting a pair of top tens at River Cities on Friday, and at the Greenbush Race Park on Saturday night.

Strand kicked off his weekend with a heat race victory at River Cities, his second of the week, as he also won his heat with the NLRA at the Buffalo River Speedway the previous Sunday.

Starting third in the main event. spent 18 of the 20 laps inside the top three, but a late caution erased a shot at the win.

Contact with another car on the final restart sent Strand through the infield, as he lost four spots, but still finished in the seventh position.

Strand was very happy with his run on Friday night. “It was going good. If that last caution hadn’t come out… we were in lapped traffic and it would’ve been interesting. I could’ve got my first win, but it didn’t happen. I’ve never gone that fast in my life in a race car. It was a rush!”

Strand continued his rookie season with the NLRA Late Models on Saturday night at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN where a fifth place run in his heat race put him in the 13th starting spot for the 25 lap main event.

Strand wasted no time charging forward, working his way into the top ten by the conclusion of the opening lap.

A strip of moisture on the low side of the speedway made the bottom groove dominate and made passing a premium. Strand crossed the checkers in ninth.

This week the E85 will run at River Cities on Friday night. Green flag drops at 7pm.
