Another top five for Mullen at River Cities

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 22, 2021) – Brendan Mullen scored another top five in the Native Nations Cannabis No. 11M last Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, his 11th of the 2021 campaign.

The World of Outlaws Late Model Series was in town, so Mullen started his night in the seventh starting spot in his heat race, as the series ran the passing points format.

Mullen finished sixth in his heat race, placing him in the 11th starting spot in the 25 lap main event.

Mullen spent the entirety of the race moving up through the field with his teammate Wade Nygaard, and Mark Dobmeier. After a redo on the initial start, the following 15 laps went caution-free, as the trio made their way towards the top five.

After a red flag with ten laps to go, and a pair of cautions late in the race, Mullen started fourth on the last restart, as he and Nygaard spent the final laps trading the final spots inside the top five. Mullen finished the race in fifth.

The 11M team made their way back to Huset’s Speedway on Sunday, but their night ended early due to mechanical woes.

This week, the team will continue their season with the NOSA Sprints on Friday at River Cities, before heading back to the site of Mullen’s first career NOSA win, the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND, where he led every lap en route to the win. Another trip to Huset’s will round out the weekend.
